Introducing Call Me Old Fashioned, a bold collaboration between Bizarre Coffee and Barrel House Coffee. This limited-edition bourbon barrel-aged coffee brings together the best of Georgia’s coffee and bourbon traditions.

How It’s Made: The Barrel Aging Process

  1. Aged for two months in once-used, charred white American oak barrels sourced from Georgia distillers.
  2. Barrels held bourbon aged for at least four years and were freshly emptied before use, preserving every nuanced note.
  3. Roasted separately using a fluid bed roaster and a drum roaster, then blended for a perfectly balanced cup.

To lock in the perfect balance of flavor, we roasted the beans separately—using a fluid bed roaster at Barrel House Coffee and a drum roaster at Bizarre Coffee—before blending them into a smooth, cohesive masterpiece.

Do Barrel-Aged Coffees Contain Alcohol?

No, barrel-aged coffee does not contain alcohol:

  • Aging process: The alcohol evaporates during the aging process, leaving behind the flavors and aromas of the barrel. 
  • Roasting: The alcohol that the coffee beans absorbed is almost entirely burnt off when the beans are roasted. 
  • Trace amounts: Any remaining alcohol is so minimal that it's negligible
